news: she’s baaack! ethereal eyes, the OG
The girlies have asked, begged, and pleaded with Mario Dedivanovic to re-release the coveted original Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyes Eyeshadow Palette. This iconic palette sold out, and those of us who missed it have been lusting for it ever since.
As of next week, she’s baaaaack.
In his announcement video, Mario explains that he wanted to bring back the palette so “everyone who has been asking for it can finally have it”. I loved hearing that.
Not enough brands give us what we actually want.
Especially in the beauty space, where brands have a habit of discontinuing cult favorites and reformulating holy-grails into noticeably worse products (@ givenchy prisme libre loose setting powder, i’m talking to u).
So when a company actually listens to its community, we take notice.
Because that, dear readers, is how loyalty is built.
There’s something very satisfying about a brand recognizing and responding to its consumers without adding unnecessary complications. Mario isn’t reinventing the product nor is he relying on an elaborate relaunch strategy. He’s simply bringing back a beloved item in its original format, exactly as we remember it.
When Ethereal Eyes first dropped, makeup was still very much in its minimal era. It arrived just before luminous, light-catching eye looks started taking over our feeds.
Which makes this relaunch perfectly timed. On March 20, I will be ready to drop it straight into my cart. 🛒 After years of hoping for its return, I’m excited to finally add her to my collection.
I think I’m also going to order Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil in Strawberry Sunset and the MoistureGlow Plumping Lip Serum in Strawberry Glow. I have a feeling a ~ strawberry ~ inspired aesthetic is going to be everywhere this summer. 🍓
Remember what I said about loyalty earlier. This is what earned goodwill converting into consumer action looks like. It is directly increasing my purchase investment and influencing my decisions. In this instance, I am choosing Mario’s MoistureGlow over Dior’s lip oil, even though I already adore the Dior one.
I’m also planning to order directly from Makeup by Mario. I’ve been doing that more often lately. I feel like it cultivates a more wholesome shopping experience. And, since we’re on the topic, free shipping at $35 is another reason I appreciate this brand so much. Mario keeps things accessible and uncomplicated.
Very ‘for the girls’ energy. 💅
Thank you, Mario. You’re so real for bringing back this one. 🖤
